Congratulations 2025 Waikato Business Awards Winners!
Congratulations to all the winners of the 2025 Waikato Business Awards, proudly supported by Fosters! The Gala Dinner was a spectacular night of glitz and glam at Claudelands Arena, celebrating the incredible achievements of businesses across our region. A huge thank you to our Platinum, Event, and Support Sponsors for making the evening possible. And a special shoutout to RML Machinery, who took home the 2025 Supreme Award!

WBA Head Judge Update
After 12 incredible years as Head Judge, Dr Heather Connolly has decided to step down from her role. Heather’s leadership, professionalism, and commitment have been instrumental in shaping the Waikato Business Awards into what they are today, and we’re deeply grateful for her outstanding contribution. Taking on the role of Head Judge from 2026 will be Jason Trower, previous Investor and Director of The Instillery and WBA judge over several years, most recently in the Emerging Leader category. Jason brings a wealth of experience, energy, and insight to the position, and we’re confident he’ll continue to uphold the high standards the Awards are known for. A massive thank you to Heather for her dedication and service!

Quarterly Economic Monitor Results
The latest Quarterly Economic Monitor, released by Infometrics last week, reveals that the Waikato economy is showing encouraging signs of resilience, with steady growth supported by strong primary sector performance and continued momentum in health care and professional services. High dairy and meat prices are boosting confidence across the region, and growing card spending and rising house sales point to improving activity. Population growth of one percent also highlights the region’s ongoing appeal as a place to live, work, and invest. You can read the full quarterly economic report for the Waikato region below.
