PANELLISTS
Anna Curzon
Anna is a prominent and highly respected business leader and board director. Her experience includes global C-suite roles at Xero including Managing Director New Zealand, global Chief Partner Officer and Chief Product Officer, along with senior leadership roles with a number of other financial and technology companies. She is a director of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Gallagher Holdings Limited, Kiwibank, and Jade Software Corporation, and chairs the board of Atomic.io. For over five years, across successive Governments, Anna has been a member of the APEC Business Advisory Council by appointment of the Prime Minister, where she is currently chairing the Regional Economic Working Group. Outside of business, Anna co-chairs B416, a New Zealand advocacy group established to address a modern-day public health crisis: the impact of social media on youth. Anna is passionate about the simple yet urgent mission of keeping our rangatahi safe online and has lobbied for the introduction of a legal age limit for social media.
Dr Amy Marfell
Dr. Amy Marfell is an experienced sports executive and academic, currently serving as the first female Chief Executive of Waikato Rugby and the only woman leading a Provincial Rugby Union in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship (NPC) competition, marking a significant milestone in the landscape of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s rugby leadership. Amy’s professional journey has spanned various corners of the sporting sector. She holds a PhD which focused on sport and issues of gender, has taken up teaching and research roles in academia with the University of Waikato, Executive Leadership in a Regional Sports Trust environment at Sport Waikato and governance roles in Cricket, Rugby and Softball at local, regional and national levels. Amy brings a deep understanding of equity and strategic leadership to every role she undertakes and is recognised for her visionary leadership, values-based approach, and dedication to building high performing workplace cultures and teams, as well as for fostering pathways for future leaders, particularly women, in sport.
Fiona Michel
Fiona Michel is Chief Executive Officer of Braemar Hospital, one of New Zealand's largest independent, not-for-profit private surgical hospitals. Fiona was appointed by the Minister to the Council of the University of Waikato and chairs the Medical Advisory Board of the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine. She is also a Director of New Zealand Medical Indemnity Insurance and is chair of Dress for Success Hamilton. Fiona has won numerous awards in New Zealand and Australia for achievement in human resources, leadership, culture, ethics and industrial relations, and was a finalist in the 2021 Westpac Women of Influence Awards for her work on the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. She won CEO of the Year at the 2025 Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
